Overview
Perfect bound booklets look like a book on the shelf. The pages are glued into a flat spine and wrapped in a card cover, so the spine can carry a title. That is the format for catalogues, annual reports, school and college prospectuses, portfolios, poetry and short-story collections, menus for fine dining and company handbooks.
Sizes
Eight sizes: A6, DL, 148mm square, A5 portrait or landscape, 210mm square and A4 portrait or landscape. A5 portrait is the usual size for a book or handbook; A4 portrait suits catalogues and prospectuses; A4 landscape works for portfolios.
Pages and paper
Perfect binding needs enough pages to form a spine, so it starts at 40 pages and runs to 88 in steps of four. 90gsm smooth white paper suits text-heavy books, 130gsm silk is a good all-rounder, and 170gsm silk gives photos real depth.

The cover is 250gsm or 300gsm silk. Add lamination on the outside to protect it: matt for a calm finish, gloss for colour, soft touch for a velvety, premium feel that suits prospectuses and portfolios.

Send one PDF of single inside pages in reading order with 3mm bleed, plus the cover. The spine width depends on the page count and paper, so leave a little extra margin on the inner edge. Our leaflet design service can be added at checkout.
