Overview
Magazine and zine printing is for anything published in issues: a club or parish magazine, a community newsletter, a fanzine, a student or arts zine, a brand's seasonal magazine, a local business directory. Pages are folded and stapled on the spine, the familiar magazine format that opens easily and stacks neatly on a counter.
Formats for magazines and zines
A4 portrait is the classic magazine shape. A5 portrait is the most common zine and newsletter size: light to post and easy to carry. A6 and DL make pocket zines, and the 148mm and 210mm squares give an art-book feel for photography and illustration zines.

Self cover or card cover
A self cover uses the same paper throughout, which is how most newsletters and zines are made. A 250gsm or 350gsm cover makes a magazine feel more like something to keep, and matt or gloss lamination on the outside protects it in a bag or on a coffee table.
Paper
130gsm silk reads comfortably and keeps weight low for posting. 130gsm gloss gives photos more punch. 170gsm silk feels premium for a launch issue or a portfolio-style zine.
Print runs
Order 25 copies for a first zine or a small society, or up to 5,000 for a community magazine delivered across a town. The price per copy falls as the run grows and is shown live.
Timing and delivery
Saver production is 7 working days, then delivery; quicker speeds appear in the price box where a product has them. Build that into your publishing date. Delivery to a UK mainland address costs £7.95 for the whole order, and nothing once the printing in your basket reaches £100.
Artwork
Supply one PDF of single pages in reading order, each with 3mm bleed. Page counts must be a multiple of four. Our leaflet design service can be added at checkout.
