Rewire and fuse-board flyers, landlord EICR guides, EV charger leaflets and door hangers
Electricians mostly print an A5 or DL flyer on 170gsm silk for door drops, a folded guide for landlords and letting agents about electrical safety checks, and a stiff A6 card left with every customer. This page covers what each piece is for, live prices and packs, sample layouts, ready wording and the scheme-logo and consumer-law points to check before you print.
Homeowners rarely think about their wiring until a breaker keeps tripping or they plan a kitchen, an extension or an EV charger. A domestic electrician's leaflet works when it names those moments in plain words and shows that the person who turns up is qualified and registered.
Fuse board upgrades in older streets
Houses still on a rewireable fuse box or an old plastic consumer unit cluster by age. A flyer about consumer unit replacement, dropped across a 1960s or 1970s estate, speaks to a job many of those homes will need.
Landlord electrical safety checks
Private landlords in England must have the electrics in rented homes inspected and tested at least every five years. A folded guide explaining the inspection, the report and what happens with remedial work is useful to landlords and to the letting agents who manage them.
EV charger installs
A leaflet for streets with driveways and off-street parking, covering what a home charger install involves, what you need to check on the supply first and how long it takes. Keep any grant wording to what the current scheme really offers.
Kitchen and extension first-fix work
Builders and kitchen fitters pass on work to electricians they trust. A short leaflet for their customers, left with the builder, explains what you do on a renovation and when you need to be booked in.
Lighting, sockets and outdoor power
Small jobs such as extra sockets, garden lighting, a shed supply or downlights fill the diary between bigger work. A spring flyer that lists them with typical durations brings in steady bookings.
Leave-behind cards
An A6 card for every customer with your number, registration and what to do if the power goes. It is the card that is still in the drawer when the neighbour asks who did their wiring.
Door hangers on the street you are rewiring
A rewire takes days, so the neighbours see the van. A hanger on their door explaining who you are and what you are doing turns the van into an introduction.
Recommended leaflets for electricians
What we would print for an electrical contractor. The 'from' price is today's live price for the lowest-cost options; the example line is a configuration electricians often order.
Six panels suit a step-by-step guide to the five-yearly inspection: what is checked, what the codes on the report mean and how remedial work is booked. 250gsm feels substantial on an agent's desk.
Letting agents and builders' merchants with a trade counter will often take a holder of your guides. Printed holders stay upright and keep your name in view.
Three packs: landlords and letting agents who need EICRs, homeowners near your jobs, and a rewire street campaign. Each pack is real products at the options shown, totalled at live prices.
Package 1
Landlord and agent pack
For winning repeat inspection work: folded guides for landlords and holders for the letting agents who will hand them out.
The DL guide sits in an A5 holder with room to spare; ask each agent whether a holder can go on the front desk before you order.
Saver speed, about 11 working days for the slowest item. Prices are the live Saver prices for exactly these options. Order each item from its own page; one delivery charge covers the basket.
Drop the flyers on estates of one age so the job you lead with, such as a board change, suits most of the houses.
Saver speed, about 6 working days for the slowest item. Prices are the live Saver prices for exactly these options. Order each item from its own page; one delivery charge covers the basket.
Hang the hangers on the first morning of the job, not the last: the neighbours have the whole week to come and ask.
Saver speed, about 8 working days for the slowest item. Prices are the live Saver prices for exactly these options. Order each item from its own page; one delivery charge covers the basket.
Three layouts we drew for invented electrical firms. Each puts the job in the homeowner's words first, then the proof that matters for electrical work: registration, certificates and a clear price route.
These are sample designs we made to show layout and wording. The business names, numbers and addresses are invented.

[Name] Electrical is a local electrician working in [town] and the surrounding villages. We rewire, replace consumer units, add sockets and lighting and install home EV chargers. Every job is tested and certified, and we are registered with [scheme] so notifiable work is signed off without you having to deal with building control. Call [number] for a written quote.
If your fuses still have wire in them, or your fuse box has no RCD protection, it may not protect you from electric shock the way a modern board does. We start with a test of your existing wiring, tell you what we found and quote a fixed price for the new board, including testing and the certificate.

Avoid scare wording about fires and deaths; describe the risk accurately and calmly.
When, where and how many
Electrical work is steadier through the year than plumbing, with peaks around darker evenings, house moves and renovation season. Most work comes from a few sources: homeowners on older estates, landlords and agents, and other trades.
October and November are busy: lighting faults show up as the evenings draw in, and people want work done before Christmas. Spring brings extension and kitchen wiring. Landlord inspection work follows tenancy dates all year.
When to drop
Run homeowner flyers in September and October and again from February to April. Landlord guides can go out at any time, but agents are most receptive in quieter months such as January and August when they plan the year's compliance work.
How many
A sole trader often does well with 2,500 flyers a quarter split across two or three estates of the same age, rather than 10,000 once across a whole town. For landlord guides, 250 to 500 lasts most firms a year: they are handed over, not dropped.
Where
Through doors on estates built before the 1990s for board changes and rewires, on streets with driveways for EV chargers, on the counters of letting agents, builders' merchants and kitchen showrooms that agree to hold them, and in the hand of every customer with a card.
What response to expect
Cold door drops usually bring a few enquiries per thousand, sometimes approaching one in a hundred when the job matches the housing stock. A landlord guide might bring nothing for weeks and then a portfolio of twenty properties from one agent, so judge it over a year, not a month.
Paper, size and finish for electricians
Electricians' print is read by homeowners deciding whether to trust you with their wiring, so it should look as tidy as your work. These are the stocks we would choose.

Use a real photo of one of your own finished boards, with labelled circuits, rather than a stock image of sparks or tangled wires. It shows the standard you work to.
Keep the scheme name and number in the same place on every piece, usually at the foot of the back.
Before you print: rules for electricians
Electrical work has its own rules on who can sign off jobs, and the usual consumer-law rules apply to advertising. These are the points to check before you print.
Competent person scheme logos
Only show a scheme logo or say you can self-certify notifiable work if you are currently registered with an authorised competent person scheme, and follow that scheme's rules on using its logo. In England, notifiable domestic electrical work must otherwise be notified to building control.
If you describe landlords' duties, keep to what the electrical safety standards for the private rented sector actually require, such as inspection and testing at least every five years in England, and check the current guidance for timescales and who receives the report.
Do not suggest a grant is available unless you have checked the current scheme and the customer is likely to qualify. Schemes change and close; print 'ask us about current schemes' rather than a figure that may go out of date.
Prices and claims
Prices should include fixed charges such as testing and certification if the customer always pays them. The CAP Code requires claims such as 'fully certified' or 'fixed price' to be true and capable of proof.
Work agreed in the customer's home usually carries a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and the customer must be told about it.
This is a printer's checklist, not legal advice. Check with your competent person scheme, GOV.UK or Trading Standards before you print.
Questions about leaflets for electricians
What should an electrician put on a leaflet?
Lead with a job the homeowner recognises, such as an old fuse box, extra sockets or an EV charger. Then add the area you cover, how to get a written quote, your phone number in large type and the competent person scheme you are registered with, including your registration number.
What size flyer works best for electricians?
A5 on 170gsm silk is the most flexible: enough room for a job list, a photo of a finished board and your scheme details. DL suits a single-job flyer, such as EV chargers, and fits letting agents' racks.
Can I put the NICEIC or NAPIT logo on my flyers?
Only if your business is currently registered with that scheme, and then following the scheme's own rules on logo use. If your registration lapses, stop using the logo on new print.
How do I get landlord inspection work through leaflets?
Print a folded guide that explains the five-yearly inspection, the report codes and how you handle remedial work, then take it to local letting agents rather than dropping it on doors. One agent can pass on many properties, so a few hundred guides go a long way.
How many leaflets should an electrician print?
Many sole traders print 2,500 A5 flyers a quarter for two or three target estates, 500 cards for customers and 250 to 500 landlord guides a year. Order more of what brings calls once you know where your work comes from.
Do door hangers work for electricians?
They work well next to a rewire or a board change, because the neighbours see your van for several days and the hanger explains who you are. Only say you are working in the road when you are.
Can you design my electrician leaflet?
Yes. Our Artwork and Design Service can lay out your wording, logo and photos. Every upload is checked automatically for size, bleed and resolution, and File check (£4.99) adds a person reviewing your file before print. Delivery is £7.95, free when the print reaches £100.
