Wasp season flyers, rodent cards, business contract leaflets and treatment aftercare sheets
Pest controllers get the best return from a stiff A6 card that sorts the problem by season, wasps in summer and rats and mice in autumn, kept in a drawer until the day it is needed, plus a folded leaflet for food businesses and landlords who want a contract. This page covers what to print, live prices, ready packs, sample layouts, wording, the seasonal calendar and the rules on product and certification claims.
Pest problems are urgent, a little embarrassing and seasonal. People want someone local, discreet and quick, and they want to know the price before you come. Commercial customers want proof of competence and a clear contract. Print needs to serve both.
Wasp season flyers
From June to September, wasp nests in lofts, eaves and sheds are the most common domestic call. A DL flyer in early summer, with what a nest looks like and how you treat it, reaches people before the nest gets big.
Rats and mice cards for autumn
When the weather cools, rodents move indoors. An A6 card on the signs to look for (droppings, gnawing, noises in the loft) and your number is kept in drawers until the scratching starts.
Discreet service leaflets
Many people do not want a branded van outside for bed bugs or rats. A leaflet that explains how you work discreetly, with unmarked vehicles if you use them, wins work from people who would otherwise put off calling.
Commercial contract leaflets
A folded leaflet for restaurants, takeaways, shops, warehouses and landlords explaining routine visits, reports, records for inspections and response times.
Treatment aftercare sheets
A sheet left after each visit: what was done, which areas to keep pets and children away from, how long, and when you will return. It answers the worried calls before they come.
Proofing and prevention
Flyers for proofing work, such as sealing gaps, fitting bristle strips and covering airbricks, which prevents repeat problems and brings work in the quieter months.
Letting agents and managing agents
A card for agents managing flats and HMOs, where one infestation can spread between units and quick response matters.
Recommended leaflets for pest control
What we would print for a pest control business. The 'from' price is today's live price for the lowest-cost options; the example line is a typical order.
Drop the flyers in early to mid June, before nests reach full size in July and August.
Saver speed, about 6 working days for the slowest item. Prices are the live Saver prices for exactly these options. Order each item from its own page; one delivery charge covers the basket.
Hand-deliver contract leaflets to kitchens outside service hours, addressed to the manager.
Saver speed, about 8 working days for the slowest item. Prices are the live Saver prices for exactly these options. Order each item from its own page; one delivery charge covers the basket.
Three layouts we drew for invented pest control firms. They help people recognise the problem, explain the treatment calmly and keep product and certification claims accurate.
These are sample designs we made to show layout and wording. The business names, numbers and addresses are invented.

Body text
[Name] Pest Control is a local, [qualified] technician covering [area]. We treat wasp nests, rats, mice, fleas and bed bugs in homes, and we explain each treatment before we start, including how we keep children and pets safe. We tell you the price on the phone and come in a plain van if you prefer.
Restaurants, takeaways and shops need pest records ready for food hygiene inspections. Our contracts include routine visits, a written report every time and a site plan of monitoring points, with call-outs between visits if anything is spotted. Ask us for a free site survey.

Only display BPCA or other trade body logos while you are a member.
Do not name or praise specific poisons on a leaflet; describe the service instead.
Avoid claims like 'guaranteed pest-free' that you cannot promise.
When, where and how many
Pest work is seasonal and predictable: wasps in summer, rodents in autumn and winter, insects in warm spells. Drop just before each season starts.
June to September is peak for wasps; September to November for rats and mice moving indoors. Commercial contract work is steady all year.
When to drop
Drop wasp flyers in early June and rodent flyers in late September. Commercial leaflets can go out at any time, but January and February are good months, when businesses set budgets.
Leave cards with every customer so the next problem comes back to you.
How many
A sole operator usually drops 2,500 to 5,000 flyers at the start of each season in a tight area, plus 1,000 cards a year. Commercial leaflets are hand-delivered in tens, not thousands.
Where
Through doors in older housing, near allotments, rivers and farmland, along high streets for food businesses, with letting and managing agents, and at farm and garden shops that allow cards.
Avoid doors with 'no junk mail' signs, and keep wording calm: neighbours do not want a flyer that implies their street is infested.
What response to expect
Seasonal flyers usually bring a few calls per thousand doors, rising in hot summers for wasps and cold snaps for rodents. Commercial leaflets bring fewer replies but each contract is worth much more. Ask every caller where they found you.

Use clear photos or drawings of signs (droppings, nests, gnaw marks) rather than close-ups of pests, which many people find off-putting on a doormat.
Keep safety wording on aftercare sheets short and in bold; it is the part people must read.
Before you print: rules for pest control
Pest control uses regulated products, and claims about them and about your competence must be accurate. These are the points pest controllers check before printing.
Biocide and rodenticide claims
Pesticides and biocides are regulated, and professional rodenticide use in the UK is tied to stewardship certification. Do not make claims about products, such as 'completely safe', that you cannot support.
Claims like 'guaranteed pest-free' or 'one visit' must be true for every job. The CAP Code requires claims to be substantiated and prices to include unavoidable charges such as call-out fees.
Honeybees and some other species should not be destroyed as pests, and bats and their roosts are protected by law. Say you refer honeybees to beekeepers and leave bat-related wording to official guidance.
This is a printer's checklist, not legal advice. Check current guidance from HSE, your trade association or Trading Standards before you print.
Questions about leaflets for pest control
What leaflets work best for pest control?
A stiff A6 card for each season, wasps in summer and rodents in autumn, that people keep in a drawer. DL flyers suit wider drops at the start of each season, and a folded leaflet explains commercial contracts to food businesses and landlords.
When should pest controllers deliver flyers?
Early June for wasps, before nests reach full size, and late September for rats and mice moving indoors. Commercial leaflets can go out at any time; January and February suit businesses setting budgets.
Should I show prices on pest control leaflets?
A fixed price for a domestic wasp nest treatment is common and helps people call. Include any call-out charge in the price or show it clearly beside it, so the headline figure is not misleading.
Can I mention the poisons I use on a leaflet?
It is better to describe the service than to name or praise specific products. Claims about safety or effectiveness must be supported, and rodenticides are sold for professional use under stewardship rules.
How do I advertise discreet pest control?
Say clearly how you keep visits discreet, such as an unmarked van or plain clothing, but only if that is true for every visit. Many people put off calling about bed bugs or rats because they are embarrassed.
What should a commercial pest control leaflet include?
Routine visit frequency, written reports, a site plan of monitoring points, how call-outs between visits work and the types of business you serve. Avoid promising that inspections will be passed.
How long does printing take?
Each product page shows the Saver working days and any faster speeds. Delivery is £7.95 per order to the UK mainland and free when the print reaches £100. Order wasp flyers in May.
Can you design my pest control leaflet?
Yes. Our Artwork and Design Service can lay out your wording and images. Every upload is checked automatically for size, bleed and resolution, and File check (£4.99) adds a person reviewing your file before print.
