Flyers, programme cards, sign-up slips and event posters for toddler groups, lunch clubs, friends groups and local projects
Community groups mostly print A5 flyers to tell people what the group is and when it meets, A6 programme cards with the term's dates, A4 or A3 posters for noticeboards and shop windows, and a simple sign-up slip. This page covers the products, live prices, ready-made packs, sample layouts, wording, the best months to recruit and how to handle sign-up details properly.
Most community groups are run by a handful of volunteers on a tiny budget, and their biggest problem is that people who would love to come simply do not know the group exists. A clear flyer in the right places, with the day, time and place in large type, solves more of that than any amount of posting online.
What we do flyers
An A5 flyer explaining the group in plain words: who it is for, what happens, when and where it meets, what it costs and whether you need to book. Left in libraries, GP surgeries, cafés and community centres.
Programme and term cards
An A6 or DL card with the term's dates, speakers, walks, sessions or activities, kept on the fridge or in a handbag.
Posters for noticeboards
A4 and A3 posters for community boards, shop windows, school gates and church halls, with the key facts readable from a few steps away.
Volunteer recruitment
Flyers and cards asking for helpers: what the role involves, how much time and whether training or checks are provided.
Sign-up and consent slips
Simple forms for joining, emergency contacts, photo consent and contact preferences.
One-off events
Flyers for open days, fundraising coffee mornings, plant sales, repair cafés, quizzes and the annual exhibition or show.

Scan for dates and directions
Put the day, time and place in the largest type after the group's name. It is the first thing people look for.
Ask permission before leaving flyers or posters anywhere, and go back to replace out-of-date ones.
On sign-up slips, only ask for what you need and say how the details will be used and kept.
When, where and how many
Groups recruit best at the moments when people are looking for something new: the new year, the start of a school term and the first warm weeks of spring.
January and September are peak recruiting months, when people make plans and school terms begin. Spring suits outdoor groups. Summer and December are usually quiet, apart from summer events and Christmas fairs.
When to print
New-term flyers and programme cards in mid December and mid August, ready for January and September. Event flyers four to six weeks before the date. Posters whenever the programme changes. Allow the Saver working days on the product page plus delivery.
How many
Small groups rarely need more than 250 flyers a term and 25 posters. Programme cards: one for each regular member plus a few spares. Order little and often so details stay current, rather than a big run that goes out of date.
Where
Libraries, GP surgeries and pharmacies, community centres, cafés, supermarkets with community boards, schools and nurseries (for family groups), places of worship and the local paper's what's-on listings. Hand flyers to people at related groups and events.
What response to expect
Most new members come through a flyer or poster seen several times, then a friend's nudge. Expect a few new faces after each round of posters and flyers, more in January and September. Ask newcomers where they heard about you and put more print there.

For older audiences, use 12 point or larger body text and strong contrast. Pale grey text on a coloured background is the most common reason group flyers go unread.
If you print a QR code, test it from a printed proof at arm's length, and put the web address in words as well for people who do not scan.
Questions about leaflets for community groups
What should a community group flyer include?
The group's name, who it is for, what happens at a session, the day, time and place in large type, the cost, whether you need to book, and a contact name and number. A line saying newcomers are welcome and what the first visit is like helps people take the first step.
What size flyer is best for a community group?
A5 is the most useful size: it fits leaflet racks and counters and has room for the details. Use A6 cards for term programmes and A3 posters for noticeboards and windows. Small groups often need only 100 to 250 flyers a term.
Where should we put community group flyers?
Anywhere your future members already go: libraries, GP surgeries, pharmacies, community centres, cafés, supermarket noticeboards, places of worship, schools and nurseries for family groups. Always ask first, and go back regularly to restock and replace old flyers.
How do we collect sign-up details properly?
Ask only for what you need, such as name, phone or email and an emergency contact if relevant. Say who is collecting it, what it is for and how long you will keep it. Store paper forms securely and let people leave the list at any time.
When is the best time to recruit new members?
January and September are the strongest months, when people make new plans and school terms begin. Outdoor groups do well in early spring. Get flyers and posters out in the two or three weeks before your first session of term.
Can we print on recycled paper?
Yes. Our recycled flyers are printed on 350gsm recycled uncoated card or brown kraft, which suit gardening, environmental and repair groups. Recycled stock has a natural look; photos print a little softer than on silk paper.
Can you design our group flyer?
Yes. Send the details, logo and any photos through our Artwork and Design Service. Every upload is checked automatically for size, bleed and resolution, and File check (£4.99) adds a person reviewing your file before printing. We can match a flyer, poster and programme card.
